Waking Up

It’s kind of funny… It has been several months since uni ended – in fact I handed in my last assignment on the 23rd May! Yet, it feels like a matter of weeks… The past months have been one big blur of partying, celebrating and being sociable, but more serious matters have occupied the minds of all my university mates: what now?

For the majority of my friends, our newly finished bachelor degrees mark the end of a 3 year era, but more importantly: the end of our adolescence. We all face the bitch, that we call decision-making – whether that means continuing our studies or starting our careers.

The realisation of adulthood has been hanging over our heads as a dark cloud, which was best kept away by equal amounts of coffee consumption, partying and sleeping – while also (re)discovering the joys of hula hooping and Penny boarding. However, now September is here – the end of summer…

I decided to continue my studies well before Christmas, however the finalisation of these plans has not been in sight for a very long time. I was lucky enough to receive my acceptance letter for the MBA Luxury Brand Marketing at GCU in early April, however sorting out funding has been a struggle, which has caused me not so few tears.

It has been surprisingly hard to rejoice in my successes with the weight of possibly losing everything resting on my shoulders. Good grades, a flat in lovely Camden and being offered the chance to study an MBA at only 22, all becomes hard to truly appreciate if you risk losing it all in the blink of an eye. However, after months and months of negotiating, emailing and calling, everything has finally fallen into place, and I can breathe normally and start to look forward to a new chapter in my life.

In fact, everything falling into place is what ultimately gave me the push to actually do something about my virtually non-existing website and heavily neglected social media platforms. Oh well, all that is about to change, and I can’t wait to share thoughts and inspiration..!
